Non-offending caregivers:
The non-offending caregivers often feel overwhelmed when confronted
with child abuse. Staff at the Child Advocacy Center facilitate
group sessions with these caregiver. The counselor consults with
the caregivers on the child’s treatment progress and helps them
to develop a plan for the child and their family. In the support
groups these caregivers receive support, guidance, and education
regarding their child’s victimization.
Parents:
Parenting is a challenging job. The parent support groups provide
parents with tools and skills other parents and experts find successful.
Parents can provide powerful support and encouragement for each
other. Parents learn effective intervention strategies, positive
ways to support their children, and will develop a community support
group.
