Therapy

The therapist at the Child Advocacy Center is trained to work with children and adolescents who have been victims of abuse. They use a variety of modalities and techniques to create a supportive and safe environment.

Through therapy, our goal is to reduce life long trauma and its resulting behaviors in sexually and physically abused children. It will also reduce re-victimization of these children.

Treatment length and type depends on the individual case and nature of abuse. Professionals at the center follow the case and provide the consistency required for positive change until services are no longer needed.

If a medical exam or other services are required, appropriate referrals are made.

Information is provided for child victims and non-offending caregivers who may be testifying in court.
